New research reveals that companies who fail to send regular marketing messages to their clients could be affecting the future of their business.
The study by Ad-ology Research found that more than 48% of people believe a lack of visible advertising suggests that a business is actually struggling in the current economic climate.
The US poll, which could reflect UK, also revealed that consumers saw adverts within the last 30 days through platforms including direct mail, newspapers and TV.
The president and chief executive officer of Ad-ology Research, said marketing is key if firms are to “maintain long-term positive consumer perception”.
He added: “Advertising not only assures consumers of a business’ reliability in a soft economy, but it can influence where and what they buy, especially when the ads address concerns about value.”
Other research by Lloyds TSB Commercial found that 40% of small firms are intending to increase their marketing spend in the next few months.
